CHAPTER ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN 2010 -2011 SCHOOL YEAR

Ø     Conducted successful recruitment campaign and doubled membership

Ø     Expanded executive board creating new positions to strengthen chapter leadership

Ø     Used phone conferencing and the web to conduct executive board meetings

Ø     Held a Study-A-Thon for chapter members to prepare for end of semester exams

Ø     Continued business and industry exposures and college experiences

Ø     Conducted two major fundraisers to help with travel costs to NSBE conferences

Ø     Prepared teams for regional and national math, science and engineering competitions

Ø     Attended math, science and engineering design evening team prep sessions

Ø     Attended NSBE NJ Zone, Region One and National conventions 

HOW TO ENROLL???

  • Minority youth who attend a high school in Salem County entering grades 9-12 in

September 2011 are eligible for membership in SCYPE. 

  • Program materials and applications have been sent to middle and high school guidance counselors and principals, church pastors and youth leaders.
